Katie Kerr Commons
Katie Kerr Commons represents a key linkage site in a master plan conceived to provide a 2 mile long publicly accessible pedestrian and bicycle path in realization of a local developer's hope for his varied commercial/residential interests and altruistic visions for his community. The plan aspires to enable pedestrian linkage between the anchor of the City of Decatur's central square on the northwest, two rail transit stations, recreational sites, schools, urban and suburban residential areas, the developer's potential and realized development sites and, on the southeast end, a new park.
Configured of 64 townhomes around common areas, gardens and natural areas, Katie Kerr features linkage to the path and convenient access to its features. Each townhome will employ a different plan and each townhome grouping will appear as one structure rather than a typical row of attached units.
