Habersham Mill Master Plan

Located adjacent to a stunningly beautiful 50’ falls on the Soque River, we propose the creation of a unique mixed-use community on this property to be accomplished by restoring and expanding the once-thriving mill town of Habersham. As recently as 1999 Habersham Mill was a vibrant and powerful commercial textile enterprise employing hundreds of people, at one time providing housing for over 250 families and serving as one of the primary engines of economic health in northeast Georgia.  International economic circumstance has proved devastating to broad swathes of the southeast United States as textile industries and jobs have migrated out of the country.  Out of these dire conditions, the primal natural beauty of northeast Georgia and the expanding economy of Metropolitan Atlanta now offer this project an opportunity to create a viable and sustainable new community from the ruins of economic tragedy.
