Cook Editions Studio

The Cook Editions Studio is an adaptive rehabilitation and addition to a garage on a large residential site. The, airy, light-infused addition is entered from parking to the right and through a gated garden into Reception and waiting which flow directly to display and production. The computer room, kitchen, and utility areas occupy the original garage to the left.

Materials are straightforward:  Brick walls match the existing adjacent residence; laminated wood beams allow clear studio spans; naturally finished hardwood plywood ceilings, wood windows and trim provide visual warmth. The existing pool was refurbished and a new deck added with materials sympathetic to the composition of the whole.  Added low walls redefine landscaping beds to form a relationship with the structure of the house. The studio and grounds now present an ordered repose to a formerly chaotic collection of expediencies.
