Streamside House
Beneath the second floor addition and modern facade treatments lies an intact single story 1950’s ranch style house. The existing footprint, exterior walls, garage, main floor and basement structure were retained. A new front porch greets visitors.
An expansive new rear deck overlooks a small creek and a wooded rear lot.
Glazing toward the street is elevated for privacy while glazing to the beautiful backyard is extensive, considerably expanding the apparent size of the living room and kitchen by incorporating the exterior as a “living room”.
Extensive cantilevered eaves and trellises are calibrated to shelter glazed areas from exposure to the intense summer sun. Stucco is the primary exterior material and covers the the existing brick veneer. Areas of color announce the entry, add vibrancy, interest and warmth to the facade.
