Harbour Island

Harbour Island was originally a waste island in Tampa Bay consisting, primarily, of dredged material. At the time this Master Plan was conceived, existing development covered approximately 10% of the island including a hotel, small convention center, shopping center, mid-rise office building, condominiums and a tennis club.

The new Master Plan organizes future mixed-use development into a grid of squares and parks with connecting pedestrian ways and vehicular circulation in a system modeled after the original plan of Savannah, Georgia. Future development includes: 1.5 million square feet of office space, a new public aquarium, mid-rise apartments, condominiums, lots for development of individual homes, retail areas, and two marinas.
