| Early Branch Master Plan Prior to this project a visit to Early Branch was a step back in time: a dilapidated but intact 19th century southern coastal plain farm complete with fields, barns, sheds, outbuildings, cane shed, smoke house and a farmhouse built in 1868 of materials salvaged from a house Sherman destroyed. The new owners wished to retain the historic character while, over time, integrating modern conveniences. The site's new master plan thus became a mechanism to reinforce 19th century farm life necessities with strategically located additions, surgical demolitions and reorientation of space from an inward focus to a more expansive and contemporary sense of connection with the environment.
