| 7Stages Theater Renovation of a small performing arts theater space (which was originally a 1940's movie house) and the incorporation of adjacent spaces for a new box office, administrative offices and a coffee cafe serving the theater. The existing lobby was converted to a two-story space allowing for three new access and exit points for Main Stage seating as well as access to the new administrative offices. For economy, the Main Stage risers were reconstructed and the seats were salvaged and rehabbed from another theater. Out-of-date theatrical lighting fixtures were reconditioned for use in for the public spaces. 7Stages is a research and development theater taking theatrical risks and creating artistic experiments. The remodeled interior with its rotated and tilted surfaces and the facade with its startling colors and quirky trapezoidal window echoes the neighborhood's raucous image which has been this theatre company's home for over a decade.
